Sports is something each one of us is curious about. We all watch it like a hawk. Be it football, or basketball, or cricket, or even wrestling. We follow the sport as well as the player, rigorously. We want to know their general routine, about their life and whatever’s going on with them.

So here are some life-affirming thoughts that we can learn from our beloved players. Some statements that they followed and achieved the success they are at.

Virat Kohli — Indian cricketer

Discipline can take you from good to legendary.

Discipline is definitely the key to success. I think self-discipline is our ability to control our elementary desires. Our elementary desires can include small things like leaving the alarm on snooze, chilling on the bed all day, doing nothing, and the likes. But think about this, are these things helping us grow? Can we do these all along? The answer can be that yes, we can do these and not worry about a thing. But, when you have a goal to make, a place where you can see yourself in 10 years, then you need to get up and work for it. This laziness won’t work.

Cristiano Ronaldo — Portuguese footballer

Age is only a number. Attitude > Age.

Age is just a number until you have full control of your soul and mind. Anything can be achieved once you are dedicated and determined. It changes your outlook on life, how you think about yourself, about others, how you feel, and the like. You don’t need me to tell you that this is true. You already know that there is no age to learn. So decide what you want and work towards it.

Khabib Nurmagomedov — Russian mixed martial artist

Believe in yourself irrespective of who you face.

You know who you are. You know what your capability is. You know how much you can struggle. And you know what your goal is. So don’t listen to what others have to say. Believe in yourself. Yes, do take suggestions, advice from others, but only implement what you believe in. You don’t have to take pressure from anyone. It’s your life, not theirs.

LeBron James — American basketball player

Lead by helping others rise.

Trust me you won’t get anything by degrading others. Just guilt. Helping others rise is good for you, as it keeps your mind sharp and you happy. Giving others help you connect to them, you get to know them on a deeper level. And there’s also this karma effect. You help them, and when you might need help, they will be there for you, help you lift and move faster in life, help you find success. And believe me, it happens.

Sachin Tendulkar — Indian cricketer

Turn stones thrown at you into milestones for the world

You might get bad comments on what you do, negative feeds on your work, but this does not mean disaster. Look at it as an opportunity to grow. Take that negativity and use them as a stepping stone towards success. It’s the best possible way to improve yourself by seeing yourself from someone else’s eye.
